The residual current device RCD TYPE B is used to connect electric vehicle charging stations to the network.

According to the requirements of the new standard LST EN IEC 61851-1:2019 (which replaced the old document from 2011), electric vehicle charging equipment requires the installation of a TYPE A or TYPE B device for differential currents (leakage currents). Trigger sensitivity: AC ≤30mA, DC ≤6mA. The device ensures that the charging equipment is turned off even with a direct current component of leakage.
